On January 31, the executive committee of the PPM-Confirel group met to present the 2024 annual report and the 2025 plan. This meeting took place en route to Ratanakiri Province. About thirty PPM-Confirel management members boarded a large bus, which departed early from Phnom Penh.
During the journey, around ten non-commercial departments presented their contributions. At the opening of this meeting, Dr. Hay Ly Eang, president of the PPM-Confirel group, highlighted that despite the rapid advancement of technology over the past few decades, time remains unchanged, with still 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. With optimism, he stated that even though the economic situation in 2024 was not favorable for everyone, PPM and Confirel ended the year without major issues. This was due to their clear vision and caution.
"We successfully implemented our plan, which allowed us to avoid problems faced by other companies. For several decades, our economy has focused on trading and speculation rather than production or innovation, which explains why it lacks oxygen today," he emphasized.
According to the figures from PPM's commercial departments, the company continued to experience significant growth this year. Moreover, PPM gained a position in the ranking of laboratories on the African market, moving from 16th to 15th place among 600 laboratories in the same category of products.
Confirel's commercial department also showed substantial growth, thanks to the quality and innovation of its products, including Kampot pepper, palm sugar, Prahok powder, and other products. After a long meeting session that ended near midnight on the first day, the team had the opportunity to visit Confirel's plantation in Ratanakiri the following day. They also shared moments with the farming community, distributing medicines and small gifts to the village children.
